Blog post # 150: Turn the page
I've seen people with posts numbering in the 200's and even the 1000's but me getting to 150 feels like a milestone (As far as I'm concerned anyway). Time for me to take a break. In the future, if I care for them as much (Time destroys everything), you will see the following subjects in me blog:
Continuation and subsequent conclusion of the 'Adventure in Deccan' series.
King of Comedy vs. King of Solemnity.
Flexing the film critic muscle.
The superiority of Batman over all others.
The case of the missing chappals.
Love or something like it.
Chaandini Raatein.
Into the flood again.
One step forward.
Looking for a bride.
Time after Time.
Ansoo.
I leave you with a poem by the last Mughal emperor, Bhadur Shah Zafar, which perfectly describes the ephemeral nature of life (It was posted on Mr. Funtoosh's wall).
Thay kal jo apnay ghar main woh mehmaan kahan hai
Jo kho gaye hain ya rab woh ausaan kahan hai
Ankhon main rote rote nam bhi nahi ab to
Thay maujayzan jo pehle woh tufaan kahan hai
Kuch aur dhab ab tu humain log dekhte hain
Pehle jo ay zafar thay woh insaan kahan hain
Glossary:
Ausaan=thoughts
Maujayzan=something that splashes
dhab=your ways/habits.

This I Believe
To light the darkness you have to struggle. Whether it is turning on a light, lighting a candle, or sparking your inner glow. And to struggle is to live, to fight for every breath and to face each day, whether good or bad. To give up this struggle is to die.

Meet Mr.Funtoosh
I was searching through my different email ids for stuff that I haven't seen/read in a long time. Stuff from people I knew, pen-pals etc. I searched for dp and I found the first account that I had created on here. Way back in 2002 I came across this site and had created a profile on it. My handle was Mr. Funtoosh, which was the name of a local Hyderabadi clothing label or a clothing store. I was just amazed. 2002!! Really? I logged on and that account is still enabled, things came back to me slowly and in bits and pieces. I remembered that back then dp was on a limited trial basis and the way you prolonged your trial was either paying up or signing guest books, participating in the forums etc. Life and the planet have come a long way since then.
I also had another dp handle known as Ryu but can't seem to log on to that account.

My Religion
Religion and Me??
Religion is some thing not to practice not to join, not to show, not to describe: so far people are engaged in religions for one or more of the above, and thats can get nothing out of it.
What is Religion.
It should not be practiced: should be adopted and enculcated.
Not to be joint: must be merged into.
Not to be show: It should be expressed in your deed, and chareacter.
Not to be Named Should be seen and understood.
If not don't cheat yourself, join me and let me tell you how to do it perfectly honestly, with interest, with zeal and zest, inside and outside, hidden and open,,,, Lets do it get out od frustration, come to real world, try every thing see it works for you .. themn make decision where to go .. dont be double minded

The dilemma of my cousin
Couple of days ago I was having an online chat with my cousin. As it is with any conversation with guys the subject turned to girls. We just started listing off traits we would want in our future wives. After we exchange the requirements this is the direction in which the conversation veers.
Him: You know the problem that I would have after getting married?
Me: I don't know. What?
Him: After I get married if I were to see another woman who is better than my wife I would be mad. I would feel like I ended up with the second prize.
Me: (flabbergasted) Yes, that is indeed a serious problem but I have a solution for you. Poke your eyes out, after you get married that way you won't know what you're missing.
Such is the heart of men, mankind not just my cousin. Eternally insatiable and forever greedy.

I wish...
For once...even if it's for a split second, I could experience what falling in love feels like.

Adventures in Deccan Part Cuatro
I'm reverting back to Central Standard Time, even though I'm in Indian Standard Time. I'm staying up all night and sleeping through the day.
Time is a funny thing, consider the following. If you are in North America and reading this you've just read something that was written in the future. I'm from the future and it doesn't look good.

Optimist vs. Realist
One day my cousin, who is the type to see the glass always half full, says to me "Anwar I've noticed that you rarely smile. You should always smile because you never know who might be falling in love with it". I consider his advice for a second and reply "Well if you smile too much people might think you are psychotic and keep away from you".
